Bodybuilding A to Z …. A is for Arnold

The first Person anybody thinks about when the word ‘Bodybuilding’ is mentioned is, of course the one and only Arnold Schwarzeneggar.  He first shot to stardom when the Bodybuilding documentary ‘Pumping Iron’ was released in 1977. His memorable description of ‘Da Pump’ has the same prestige in the Bodybuilding world as Don Vito Corleone’s opening Monologue in ‘The Godfather’.

The Austrian-American was born in Thal, Austria.  He Won Mr. Olympia, seven times, which was a record at the time (Only to be outdone by Lee Haney and Ronnie Coleman).

He then moved into the film industry and was known for many blockbuster films such as The Terminator series, Conan The Barbarian, Predator, Twins and The Kindergarten Cop.

After conquering Hollywood, Arnold became the governor of California and was thus nicknamed, ‘The Governator’.  Arnold was married to Journalist, Maria Shriver for 25 years. They divorced in 2011 after it was revealed Arnold had fathered a child with one of the household staff, Mildred Baena.
